My Cup Overflows (Stage 6)

Isabella Ayres, Spring 2026, Acrylic, oil, and glass on canvas, 55 ×18 in

This work represents the final stage of the cycle—restoration, freedom, and salvation. Although the figure’s face is not visible, her posture suggests she looks upward toward God, her arms extended in a position that echoes the form of the cross. Her body becomes a symbol of surrender—a living sacrifice and a temple for the Holy Spirit. This moment is intimate and personal, reflecting what many call “the secret place,” a space of communion between the individual and God.

Through this relationship, the figure is no longer bound by comparison or insecurity, but is made new. She embodies the promise that “where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom” (2 Corinthians 3:17), and that she is no longer a slave to sin but set free (Romans 6:6–7). The broken mirrors surrounding her reflect both human imperfection and divine redemption—evidence that even through brokenness, God works all things for good.

This piece redefines the idea of the “perfect body.” It is no longer something to be achieved externally, but something found through restoration in Christ. As God restores her soul, she stands in fullness—no longer lacking, but overflowing.
